West Midlands furniture manufacturers and designers hold showcase.

The cream of the West Midlands’ designers and manufacturers of furniture have been showcasing their latest products to the world at the NEC.

Furniture West Midlands – funded by regional development agency Advantage West Midlands – gave 17 members the chance to exhibit on its stand at the show alongside some of the world’s top names at the Furniture Show 2007.

Launched in January 2005, Furniture West Midlands works with members to improve design, marketing and training in companies as well as encouraging collaboration.

The group forms a key part of the NetInfinity project which is funded by Advantage West Midlands and European Regional Development Fund.

NetInfinity supports companies involved in the creative industries such as furniture, glass, leather goods, jewellery, carpets and ceramics by combining the themes of creativity, design and innovation to develop a community of creative, design-rich, market-led companies who recognise the economic benefits of collaboration.

Among the companies exhibiting were Wolverhampton manufacturers mrf, Stourbridge glassmakers Denise Hunt Glass and Warwickshire-based N.E.J. Stevenson Ltd.

Gerry Logue, FWM Chairman, said: “The many companies involved with FWM consistently challenge everyday furniture design by creating trends, developing concepts and ultimately helping to steer UK furniture design.
