The intention of the workshop is to build on the knowledge gained by individuals from the seminar by providing an opportunity to research and work on ideas in a more practical and focused way. What will you gain from coming along?
Beatrice Mayfield who also works for the Crafts Council will be facilitating the day.
The other expert will be Yvonna Demczynska, Managing Director of FLOW gallery in London, www.flowgallery.co.uk. Yvonna organises international exhibitions, leads British makers’ participation in the New York gift fair and is involved in several international networks.
There are 15 places available in order to enable more one-to-one time with facilitators and experts. Priority will be given to those who attended the first seminar in Leamington Spa, however the workshop is open to all makers and curators in the West Midlands region who are consciously developing their work internationally.
To register interest and receive further information please contact: Deirdre Figueiredo at Craftspace on d.figueiredo@craftspace.co.uk or 0121 608 6668.
The workshop will be followed by a Designer Maker West Midlands forum meeting in the same place from 4 to 6pm. Andy Horn from Craftspace will be giving a presentation about his visit to the Korean Biennale and his perceptions of opportunities in that country. This is a great opportunity to network with other makers and curators in the region.
