Creative Region

Business support for the creative sector including the crafts.

The Creative Region programme was launched in April 2007, and will provide a comprehensive package of support for the development and growth of creative businesses within the region.

There are 3 distinct elements to the programme:

  • It will encourage innovation in the areas of new product or service development and entry into new markets through support via the Feasibility element of the project - a grant of up to £2.5k is available
  • Companies or sole traders will be assisted in acquiring, enlarging or moving premises through application to the Creative Space element of the programme - a grant of up to £5k may be accessed.
  • Advice, consultancy and tailor made solutions to business development are available through the Business Support element .

Improving access to and increasing take up of business development support from disadvantaged communities, women and people with disabilities will be an integral part of the Creative Region programme.

Delivery of the programme is through regional partners who have expertise, and understanding of the creative industries sector.

Eligibility for the programme: Business employing less than 250 people and working in one of the creative sectors including CRAFTS.

Birmingham-based companies are not able to join this programme as there is another programme solely for Birmingham creative companies.

You must have a postcode in the West Midlands Objective 2 area in order to access any funding on this programme. We will verify that for you once the programme has launched.
